Pooja Jain, popularly known as Dhinchak Pooja, is an internet singer, songwriter and internet celebrity. Her work was consistently mocked by many social media critics, media, YouTubers and viewers, who often called her "the worst singer ever". She has also been a contestant on the reality TV show Bigg Boss 11.
Early life
The real name of Dhinchak Puja is Pooja Jain. She was born on 28 December 1993 in Uttar Pradesh, India. Pooja says that her family has been very supportive since the early days. Pooja named her "Dhinchak" as she believes her personality is Dhinchak. Pooja was born in Uttar Pradesh but later moved to Delhi with her family.
Career
Pooja had an interest in music since childhood and started writing songs at an early age, though never received any professional training in music. She said that she wants to do something new in Bollywood in her style. She said, I was thinking about singing. One day the song "Swag Wali Topi" came to my mind. I decided to make that song and started working on it. I was thinking that this song would go viral. This music video, released in June 2016 on YouTube, received heavy negative reviews from Indian social media and media. This video was viewed more than 121,406 times in just one month. In 2016 Dhinchak Pooja released a song called Daru on YouTube, which is still being criticized.
Her big success came in 2017 with "Selfie Maine Le Li Aaj", which made her an internet sensation. Along with the chart-trending videos, many roasts and outrageous comedies had taken a stand on social media and led to general condemnation, mistake-finding and disapproval.
Regarding the plans for her future career, she commented, "I want to become a music director in Bollywood and do music concerts". She draws inspiration from Michael Jackson in music. She says of her haters, "Every star goes through this phase at the beginning of their career. By hating, they are only helping me go to the next level."
Reality show
Pooja participated in season 11 of the Indian reality TV show Bigg Boss. She took a wild card entry in Bigg Boss house in October 2017. Before entering the house, she said in an interview, "I agreed to be a part of the show because I believe that Bigg Boss would be a good platform for me. More people would know about my music."
