Thugs of Hindostan (2018 Movie): Full Story and Film Review
When two Bollywood superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan came together on screen for the first time in the film Thugs of Hindostan, the audience felt that they would create a new record. Regrettably, no record was made and history was not created. The film Thugs of Hindostan has been released under the Yash Raj banner. For a long time, the audience was waiting for the first glimpse of the film, which is now over.
Yash Raj Banner claimed that this film is one of the biggest films of this year and his banner has a megabudget film. The film is based on Philip Meadows Taylor's famous novel Confession of a Thug in 1839. The film is based on true story. The film is based on the story of the thug Amir Ali and his father Ismail, who settled in Jalaun and became synonymous with terror for the English government.
Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the film has also been released by Yash Raj Banner in 3D and iMAX. In this film, Amitabh Bachchan has been seen in the role of Khudabaksh, the chieftain of the thugs. His name in the film is Azad. Amitabh Bachchan has played such a role for the first time in his film career, in which he has been seen as a swindler. This style of Amitabh really affects. Aamir Khan is playing the character of Firangi Mallah. Apart from Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Sheikh are in the lead role in this film. The film has been released on 5000 screens.
Story
The film tells a historical fictional story dating back to 1795, when the Indian subcontinent was known as Hindustan, where Indian bandits were known as the Thugs (from the Hindustan word "thug"), who in large parts of India The British East India Company posed a serious challenge to expand. The film follows a band of thugs led by Khudabax Azad (Amitabh Bachchan), who pose a serious threat to Company Raj in India as he aspires to free the country from the British. John Clive (Lloyd Owen), a British commander, sends Firangi Mallah (Aamir Khan), the thug of Awadh, to face infiltration and danger. The story of the film is based on Philip Meadows Taylor's 1839 novel Confessions of a Thug.
Thugs of Hindostan is a title kept from the perspective of the English Empire. Here Khudabakhsh (Amitabh Bachchan), the princely state he serves, saves his princess (Fatima Sana Sheikh) from dying by the British and grows up, and makes her a warrior. Now they together rob the British ships. On the other side is the nomad Firangi (Aamir Khan) of District Kanpur. He, along with the thugs, makes money by looting the passers-by, and then makes the money by giving the news of the thugs to the British.
The British employ Firangi to capture Khudabkhsh. Firangi is incapable of trust and the same thing about his character tries to create thrill in the story. However, he is not very successful in this.
Film Review
If Aamir Khan is in the film, then it seems that there will be a lot of perfection in the film and when Amitabh Bachchan comes with him, it is definitely expected to be something big. But the director of the film Vijay Krishna Acharya was able to show only his Tashan in this film. The story of the film is quite weak. Somewhere it will seem that it is inspired by Manoj Kumar's classic film Kranti.
As far as its VFX is concerned, it is quite weak. Aamir pulls the film on his shoulders. He has always been praised for his comic timing and is also a playful person in this film. There is nothing special for Amitabh to do in the story. Yes, his fitness and action scenes at the age of 75 are definitely inspiring.
Fatima Sana Sheikh, who received praise in Dangal, is weak here. Her roles in acting, gesture, story are not attractive. Katrina adds glamor to the film. She has done it well. She needed a better dance director and would have been better for the film if the role was a bit bigger.
Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan starrer 'Thugs of Hindostan' was much awaited this year, but when the film was released, the audience was disappointed. The audience and critics did not like this film at all. After the release in India, the film was released in China, but there too this film could not show well. According to media reports, the film got viewers' disappointment on the first day.
Aamir is quite a popular Indian star in China. Earlier all his films have received very good response there, but nothing like this happened with 'Thugs of Hindostan'. According to reports, 'Thugs of Hindostan' has earned only Rs 10.67 crore on the first day at the Chinese box office.
Acting
If we talk about acting, then more fun than Amitabh and Aamir comes from seeing Muhammad Zeeshan Ayub, who has played the role of Shanichar Prasad. Looking at the film, it seems that many of his scenes have been cut. Katrina Kaif also appears in only three scenes and two songs. Amitabh and Aamir's performance is strong, but this does not make the film. After Fatima Sana Sheikh's film Dangal, it is a very disappointing work. Seeing the film, it seems that the thugs really cheated the audience.
Aamir apologized
When the film did not get good response, Aamir said, 'I did not meet the expectations of the public with Thugs of Hindostan. I take full responsibility for this. I think we made a mistake. We tried, but maybe we were wrong somewhere. There are some people who have liked the film, but the number of such people is less. Aamir further said, 'I apologize to those who came to see my film that I could not entertain them that much. Yes, but I had tried. People have gone to see my film with expectations and they don't like it, I feel very bad. I live very close to my films. My films are like my children.'
