Omar Abdullah

Omar Abdullah is an Indian Kashmiri leader and descendant of the 'first family' of Kashmir. He was born in Britain. His father is Farooq Abdullah. Omar has been the youngest and the 11th Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir till now. Omar Abdullah formed a coalition government on January 5, 2009, with Congress party. In the 2014 assembly elections, his party was defeated. He contested from Sonwar and Ullah seats. He lost to Sonarvad seat but he was elected MLA from Beerwah seat. He has also been a member of the Lok Sabha.
