P. Chidambaram

Palaniappan Chidambaram is a politician of the Indian National Congress and former Union Finance Minister of the Republic of India. Apart from this, Chidambaram is an established company lawyer who has now lobbied for several well-known organizations, including the bankrupt Enron.

P. Chidambaram was an important member of the previous two Congress-led governments at the Center. He has also been the finance minister of India from May 2004 to November 2008.

Chidambaram was became Home Minister of India on the basis of Shivraj Patil's resignation after the terrorist attacks in Mumbai in November 2008. After the three and a half year term as Home Minister, he was again appointed as finance minister in the Manmohan Singh government.
