1. Colors TV
Colors is a Hindi TV channel that airs in India and neighboring countries. It is part of the Viacom 18 network. It was launched on July 21, 2008. The channel gained a lot of fame since its inception. Its immense ratings made it second in the list of Hindi entertainment channels after Star Plus. Recently, Colors TV has also launched the channel on Sky Digital platform in the UK. The channel has featured a number of shows, such as Comedy Nights with Kapil, Balika Vadhu, Uttaran, Dance Deewane, Udaan, Sasural Simar Ka, and Bigg Boss, India's Got Talent, Naagin series, Rising Star, Comedy Nights Bachao, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi, etc.
2. Sony Sab
Sony SAB (formerly SAB TV) is a Hindi TV channel. It started as a general entertainment channel by Shri Adhikari Brothers on 23 April 1999. In 2003, the channel became comedic. In March 2005, Sub TV was taken over by Sony TV and became youth-centric. In June 2008, the channel again announced its focus on humor. It is a comedy full TV channel and a new channel from Sony. Some of popular programs broadcast by the channel are - Aladdin - Naam Toh Suna Hoga, Baalveer Returns, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Tenali Rama, Office Office, etc.
3. Star Plus
Star Plus is one of the most watched (in all languages) entertainment channels in India and is a part of the Star TV network. Most of the Star Plus programs are based on family backgrounds, mostly with a female in the lead role. In the year 2000, many new programs were broadcast by Star Plus which brought a revolution in the Indian television world. Star Plus is India's most watched channel for the past 14 years in a row. Started on 21 February 1992 as an English channel. It then aired the American serial in International. It evolved into a Hindi channel in India with Zee TV. But a news company bought this channel. After that the relationship between Zee TV and Star Plus ended and Star Plus started showing its own Hindi serial.
4. Sony Entertainment Television
Sony Entertainment Television is a popular television channel in India that aired in October 1995 and is under the rights control of Multi Screen Media Pvt. Ltd (formerly known as Set India Pvt. Ltd). Sony TV is a fierce competitor to Star Plus, Zee TV and Colors. Sony TV is also available in the High-definition format (HD). Sony HD has been released since 28 May 2012. Sony TV programs are made for the whole family. It takes into account the wishes of all the spectators. The channel has retained its distinct identity due to programs in all categories like serial, action, criminal, real, comedy, thriller, horror and Bollywood.
5. Zee TV
Zee TV started on 1 October and broadcast on 2 October 1992 and became India's first Hindi cable channel. It was founded by Subhash Chandra on 1 October 1992 as a Hindi channel in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Earlier it formed this channel in association with Star TV. But when Star TV was bought by an American company, it completely ended. Zee then established its channel in England in March 1995 and in the US on 15 July 1998. It is the first Indian channel to be shown in Europe. Some of its programs and advertisements are shown in English in America. Its HD version was first shown in India. Its HD version was shown by Dish Network on 5 September 2012 in the US.
6. Star Bharat
Star Bharat is an Indian Hindi-language TV channel owned by Star TV. It is available on almost all DTH platforms. The channel earlier aired as Life OK, which has been renamed as Star Bharat. Star One ceased operations on 18 December 2011. The channel was then rebranded as Life OK, and was launched by Star Network on 18 December 2011. The channel was launched on 18 December 2011, and is distributed in many parts of the world. The channel replaced Star India, now the default youth-oriented channel Star One. The channel made an identity change on August 28, 2017, replacing Life OK. The name and branding of the entire channel has been changed and the channel is known as Star Bharat.
7. Star Utsav
Star Utsav is a Hindi language channel. Some popular programs of Star Plus and Life OK are broadcast on it. This channel is available in India. These channels are primarily made for those who are currently connected to cable television. This gives them an opportunity to revisit the grand and popular programs of the small screen. Programs are selected from the Star Plus, Star One and Life OK collections. 8. Colors Rishtey
Colors Rishtey is a free Hindi TV channel. The channel broadcasts programs aired on its affiliate channel Colors. Program aired on Colors Rishtey are Thapki Pyar Ki, Sasural Simar Ka, Udaan, Uttaran, Swaragini, Mohe Rang Do Lal, Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki, Rangrasiya, Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, Kavach Kaali Shaktiyon Se.
9. DD National
Doordarshan National is a Union Territory Hindi TV channel in India and the channel has access to almost every part of India. These include various events such as Republic Day celebrations, Independence Day celebrations, National Award presentation ceremonies, speeches by the President and the Prime Minister of the country, President's address to the Joint Session of Parliament, important parliamentary debates, railways and general budget presentations, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Question periods, election results and analysis, swearing-in ceremonies, foreign visits of the President and Prime Minister and visits of foreign dignitaries important to India are broadcast live on DD National. It broadcasts various education related programs like Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) University Grants Commission (UGC), Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET) and State Institute of Education Technology (SIET). Along with these, it also broadcasts entertainment programs.
10. &TV
&TV or AND TV is a new channel in the Indian Hindi language owned by Zee. The telecast of the program of this channel started on 2 March 2015 at 7:30 pm. In this, the programs of Razia Sultan and 30 minutes later Bhagyalakshmi etc. started. With this, Shahrukh Khan presented "India Poochhega Sabse Shaana Kaun?" There was also the program which started at 9 pm. All current programs that started on the first day are offered from Monday to Friday. These 6 programs are made in different styles. A few days later, on March 7, 2015, two new serials were added to the channel, which starts at 9 and 10 on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
11. Big Magic
Big Magic is a Hindi comedy-oriented TV channel. It has been successful in attracting a large audience of India. In December 2016, Zee Entertainment Industry acquired this channel, which is why Big Magic also re-airs Zee TV programs.
12. Sony Pal
Sony Pal is a family entertainment channel run by Multi Screen Media. Its main purpose, like other channels on Sony, is to show serials popular among women. Sony will encourage every moment spent by women with inspiring serials, so that the viewers experience a wonderful feeling that this moment is ours, that is its main objective. Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla was chosen as the brand ambassador of this channel. The channel focuses on the passion and enthusiasm of women. Sony Pal is also available primarily on Big TV, Dish TV, Airtel Digital TV, Videocon d2h and Tata Sky and DD Free Dish, India's only free Doordarshan service.
13. Sahara One
Sahara One is a Hindi TV channel. It was established on 28 March 2000 under the name Sahara TV. The channel was renamed to Sahara Entertainment in April 2003. The name was changed again in October 2004 and renamed Sahara One. This station is owned by Sahara One Media and Entertainment Limited. As for the sibling channels, Sahara Filmy, Sahara Samay, and Sahara Firangi. The channel was renamed Sahara One on October 10, 2004 to compete with other channels and to attract more viewers. The channel is run by a company made up of Subrata Roy of Sahara India family who is basically a managing worker and president of Sahara India family.
