Arnab Goswami - Indian Journalist
Arnab Goswami is an Indian TV news presenter. He is the managing editor of Republic TV and owns more than half of its shares. He is also the chairman of the Executive Council of the News Broadcasting Association. In November 2020, the Mumbai Police arrested Goswami on the charge of suicide of Anvay Nayak.
Biography
Arnab Goswami was born on 7 March 1973 in Guwahati city of Assam. He is an eminent jurist from the Assamese family. Arnab is the son of an army officer so he completed his education from different places. He took the class 10 board examination from Mount Saint Mary School which is in Delhi Cantonment and he completed his 12th class from Kendriya Vidyalaya which is in Jabalpur Cantonment. Arnav did his graduation in Sociology from Hindu College, which is in Delhi. He did his master's degree in social anthropology from St. Antony's University of Oxford University (1994). He was a Visiting Fellow in the International Studies Department at Sydney Sussex College, Cambridge University, in 2000. Arnav Goswami's wife's name is Pipi Goswami. They also have a son.
Career
Arnab started his life journey with The Telegraph (Kolkata), where he worked as a newspaper editor for a year. Then in 1995, he started working in 'The TV' where he was the anchor of daily news and he was reporting a program called News Tonight. Arnab became a part of NDTV in 1998. He was anchoring a program called 'News Hour'. News Hour is the longest running news analysis, so long running news analysis was not shown in any other channel (1998–2003). Being the senior editor of NDTV 24x7, he was responsible for editing the entire channel episode.
As a news editor of NDTV, he was a part of the lead team and operated 'News Hour' from 1998 to 2003. He was then made senior editor at NDTV and continued working in the same position before moving to Times Now in 2006. He was promoted from Editorial Director and Editor-in-Chief to President-News and Editor-in-chief of Times Now and ET Now.
He has also written a book 'Combating Terrorism: The Legal Challenge'.
